Summary

Transforming a run-down mansion into a dream home has become a nightmare for onetime Hollywood producer Nedra Nolan, who’s freshly bought a fixer-upper in Pico Mundo, and has sent a slew of frightened contractors fleeing, alleging the place is haunted.

Who is she going to call? Odd Thomas, the mild-mannered young man with a capacity for communicating with spirits that refuse to rest in peace, is recommended by her friend.

Odd agrees to explore the strange happenings with his soul mate and sidekick, Stormy Llewellyn. The irritating TV ghost hunters Nedra employs to flush out the problematic phantoms with expensive devices, however, limit his spirit-seeking method.

Odd attempts in vain to stir up some lost souls as night falls and a violent storm locks them all in the maze like manor house.

But instead, something more horrific than any phantom appears, something with flesh, blood, and teeth. With nowhere to hide, Odd and his fellow hunters are suddenly prey.

Summary

In Odd We Trust is a prequel to the original Odd Thomas novel, In Odd We Trust, Odd is visited by the spirit of a little child, and he sets off on a journey to find the boy's killer so that his ghost can move on.

Odd's friend, Chief of Police Wyatt Porter, gives some facts about the case and informs him that the corpse was discovered by the boy's babysitter. Sherry Sheldon, a childhood acquaintance of Odd's lover and soulmate, Stormy Llewellyn, turns out to be the babysitter.

Sherry claims that a stalker has been writing her unsettling letters for several months, and she suspects that the stalker is the killer. Odd and Stormy make the decision to apprehend the stalker before he murders again.

Odd urges the spirit of the small child to assist him in locating his murderer, and Joey brings him to a street corner where he notices a strange figure. When Odd attempts to address him, the man escapes. Odd pursues, but his target escapes when he slips over a yard gnome.

Four neighborhood kids are thought to be targets since each has received a message from the killer. Chief Porter dispatches police escorts to each of the homes, and Odd and Stormy opt to spend the night with Sherry at the home where she is babysitting a girl called Angelica

Odd deduces that the killer is nearby, taunting them, from the discovery of an empty automobile with a mangled mannequin by the policeman on a stakeout at the residence.

He opens the doors of a nearby vehicle and sees the man he was chasing before. He and Odd exchange veiled threats, but when Stormy appears with a gun, the man flees.

Chief Porter follows the van's registration plates to a man named Kyle Bernshaw and provides Odd with the address.

Odd and Stormy enter into Bernshaw's residence, where they discover massive heaps of magazines (from which his enigmatic writings have been torn and glued together) and a message to Odd explaining that this was a trap.

Odd turns to find himself encircled by a savage dog, from which he is miraculously spared at the last moment by Joey's spirit. Odd and Stormy rush back to the house where they last saw Sherry, only to discover that Angelica's parents have dismissed her and she has fled.

Odd understands that Sherry, not one of the four youngsters under police protection, has always been the intended victim.

They rent a car and, using Odd's psychic attraction (a power that pulls him to people if he concentrates on them while driving); they track down Bernshaw in an abandoned slaughterhouse.

Odd battles him with minimal success until Stormy shoots him in the leg, causing Odd to subdue him. Sherry is freed from the trunk of Bernshaw's automobile.

The murderer is apprehended but refuses to confess, believing that he will be given an opportunity to go since he has struck a bargain with the devil, and whatever he desires always comes to him.

He threatens to divulge Odd's name and powers to the world, causing a media frenzy, something Odd fears the most. Odd lies and says that he, too, has given his soul to the devil for his abilities, but just as he is about to take Bernshaw into his confidence, a guard collapses and the killer grabs the guard's revolver. He shoots, but the bullet ricochets off Odd's chair. Bernshaw is killed by the bullet.

Angelica's parents re-hire Sherry, and the narrative concludes with Odd and Stormy reflecting on the joyful ending they were able to achieve.

Summary

Widower Paul Annendale has brought his two children, Rya and Mark, on their yearly camping trip to Black Water, a small New England village.

What no one knows is that the town has become a test site for a new experiment employing subliminal advertising tactics.

This newly discovered technique was introduced into the town with the help of a chemical in the water supply and allows anyone with a special code phrase to gain total mind control of an exposed subject.

It was developed by amoral scientist Ogden Salsbury and funded by multi-millionaire Leonard Dawson. Paul aims to put an end to this criminal scheme with the help of local business owner Sam Edison.

Summary

Fear Nothing is followed by Seize the Night, which begins a few months later. It all starts when Chris and his dog Orson run across Chris's ex-girlfriend, Lilly Wing, whose son Jimmy has recently gone missing.

Chris promises Lilly that he will find Jimmy and sets out with Orson to begin the search. The path brings them to Fort Wyvern, an abandoned military post that Chris enjoys exploring.

They examine the base but quickly become separated, and Orson disappears. Chris contacts his closest buddy Bobby Halloway to help him in the hunt, fearing for his dog's and Jimmy's safety, and then sends his current girlfriend Sasha Goodall to Lilly's house to comfort her.

Soon after summoning them, Chris encounters roughly thirty of the rhesus monkeys seen near the conclusion of Fear Nothing and seeks safety in a neighboring home. Bobby's arrival saves him from being discovered by the monkeys who follow him in.

Bobby and Chris investigate the base but come up empty-handed, save for a few unusual machines and chambers. They pass by Lilly's house on their way out. Sasha and Chris return to their home, while Bobby travels to Lilly's mother-in-law Jenna's home to return her to Lilly's.

The following day, Chris contacts Manuel Ramirez, the acting head of police, to provide him with information on Jimmy Wing's kidnapper's car. When he doesn't get a response, he leaves a note for Manuel to phone him after noon. Bobby returns a short time later to inform Jimmy that he is not the only missing youngster.

Later, Manuel warns Chris to back off while taking his and Bobby's firearms and wrecking his home. Roosevelt Frost comes with his cat, Mungojerrie, shortly after he leaves. They all depart and travel to an ancient road a few miles away, where Sasha's radio station employee, Doogie, joins them. They then return to Fort Wyvern to continue looking for the children and Orson.

Chris and his group enter the base, where Bobby is gravely injured in an ambush. He dispatches everyone else to find the kids and Orson, and when they return with them, Bobby eventually dies.

Chris, reluctant to leave Bobby's body behind, insists on carrying it with them on the way out. They literally confront themselves at the top of the shaft on the elevator trip back up, and Chris is able to save Bobby's former self from getting shot. Bobby's body vanishes from the elevator, and Chris takes the living Bobby with him out of the base to bring Jimmy and the other kids to their parents.

Summary

Odd Thomas returns to Pico Mundo only to be attacked by surviving members of the demonic organization he encountered in earlier books.

He survives the first attempt on his life by escaping a huge SUV as he rides the rural roads on a hefty motorbike. Odd goes off-road and lures the SUV's driver into driving into a steep gully, killing everybody inside as the SUV explodes.

Odd initially flies to the mall where Stormy and 18 others were murdered, just evading three cultists who, coincidentally or with Odd's psychic attraction, are visiting the mall where the cult's members nearly killed hundreds.

After meeting Mrs. Fischer, Odd rides his bike to a safe home maintained by the same group he aided in the last novel.

The safe house is operated by an older couple who tell him they've been married for years and have only had "5 terrible days in all those years," according to the husband. His wife disagrees, adding, "There were six, you need to figure out where we're disagreeing."

Odd sleeps in the house's guest room and his dreams of Pico Mundo are filled with glimpses of people, both recognizable and unknown, floating by him with angry looks.

He realizes that the cult has gathered enough C4 to destroy a neighboring dam after reconciling with Chief Porter and author Ozzy Boone

Destroying the dam would flood the town partially, but not enough to inflict the damage and death he envisioned. When he goes to the dam, he experiences an epiphany after sighting coyotes.

Odd returns to the safe home to discover it under siege by the cultists, all of whom are killed by the caretakers.

Mrs. Fischer and a "Cleaning Crew" come and make the safe home look as if no one has ever lived there, while Odd and Mrs. Fischer meet in her limo.

He is then forced to engage in a bloody cat-and-mouse game with the fanatics. A paramilitary attack squad pursues him through an almond orchard, and when they can't find him, they start blowing up the orchard's structures.

Using the explosions to his advantage, Odd catches two cultists discussing the ritual rape and slaughter of a little family that owns a property nearby.

Odd kills the cultists and rushes to the home in time to save the family in the barn. Odd hides in the landscape and then enters the home, following the cultists when they make their entrance.

Odd eventually kills all of the cult members, including a girl he describes as having an "innocent child's face."

Odd receives a terrible knife wound from the female cultist before she dies, and then sees her spirit waiting for him. Odd ignores her, causing her to go into a poltergeist rage while Odd flees the house.

Odd observes that the demons ("Bodachs") who had previously collected in preparation of violent occurrences are no longer present. He eventually deduces that the cult intends to spread a lethal strain of the rabies virus via hoax air blasts emerging from a funhouse in a visiting carnival. The Bodachs have not appeared because they are solely concerned with immediate violence and not with sickness.

He is able to foil the scheme, but only at the expense of a fatal gunshot wound. He is reunited with his girlfriend Stormy Llewellyn after death, who educates him on what he will confront in the hereafter.

His literary friend then discovers the manuscript of this book printing inexplicably on his laser printer.

Summary

Odd Thomas meets a mad truck driver around a month after the events of Odd Apocalypse

Odd gets a vision of three children being burned alive by someone wearing a red suit, black shirt, and black mask during this meeting, as he touches the trucker. Odd realizes at that point that the trucker had the same vision and is the one torching the youngsters. The trucker immediately attempts but fails, to murder Odd

Odd pursues the trucker despite the fact that the man attempted to murder him because he knows he must assist the children.

Odd, realizing he needs a car, grabs an SUV used as a getaway vehicle during a crime but smashes it. Then he notices a limousine approaching. The driver, who turns out to be an old feisty, fascinating, and occasionally enigmatic lady, pulls up to him and asks him a few questions before offering him a job as her chauffeur.

He grudgingly accepts the task and tracks down the trucker to a remote estate guarded by fierce dogs.

Devil worshippers make their sacrifices here, and they're planning a mass sacrifice of a large group of children.

The ghost of Alfred Hitchcock, who has been coming to Odd on a regular basis, explains numerous of the cultists' beliefs. They are affluent, powerful, and nasty individuals who get away with whatever they want because the deity they worship protects them.

Hitchcock's spirit communicates to Odd for the first time, which he has never experienced before; the living dead simply does not speak.

Hitchcock emphasizes to Odd that at this moment in time, the only thing that counts is protecting the children. Odd is massively outmanned and will very definitely perish in the process.

Pretending to be a fellow cultist, Odd murders five cult members and manages to release the children, allowing him to flee the property and the demonic mayhem that is engulfing the remaining cult members.

He finally arrives in the limousine, where his patron Mrs. Fischer and the rescued children await him. She drives them to a home that appears to be extremely comfortable, and a kind couple welcomes them inside.

Once everyone is inside, five more adults and nine more youngsters join them. They all treat the rescued children with love, feeding them, talking with them, listening to them, and spending healing time with them.

Later, while reclining on a sofa and focussing on a card in his hand, Odd notices that the five parents and nine children who had arrived earlier had vanished.

Then he is told that the children he saved will be returned to their homes. They will have no recollection of the atrocities to which they were subjected.

The immediate challenges presented to Odd are overcome in this book, but there are clues of the endgame throughout. The author has declared that the seventh book in the Odd Thomas series will be the final one.

Summary

Seven months after Forever Odd, the story begins. Odd Thomas has been a visitor to St. Bartholomew's Abbey throughout this period, where he expects to find serenity and understanding.

During his stay, he encounters a white-furred dog that helps him on his further travels.

Odd notices a shadow-like Bodach. This spells calamity for the abbey. One of the monks goes missing, and Odd is attacked by an unknown assailant.

Odd hears an odd noise in a heavy snowfall while searching for the missing monk, and subsequently sees a complex, moving pattern of bones against a glass.

The abbey's other visitor, Rodion Romanovich, joins Odd in the garage to pick up the monks.

Odd, skeptical of Romanovich, prepares to leave him at the abbey, but he escapes with one SUV full of monks before Odd can stop him.

A bone creature flips Romanovich's SUV on the way there. Odd's confidant, Brother Knuckles, destroys the beast with the second plow, rescuing everyone.

Back at the school, Odd and Romanovich discover that Jacob's father, The Neverwas, is John Heineman, a monk known as Brother John at the monastery and a former physicist who experimented with reality.

Later, Odd chooses to leave the monastery, but as he drives back to his hometown, psychic magnetism draws him out of the car, and the novel closes as he wanders down the highway toward the unknown.

Elvis Presley, who occasionally aids Odd, ultimately crosses over after three escapades. Odd and the dog (who is now shown to be a spirit) go on together, only to be joined by the ghost of Frank Sinatra seconds later.

Summary

They are more powerful, heal quicker, and think faster than any human ever created—and they must be eliminated. But not even Victor Helios—once Frankenstein—can stop the created murderers he's unleashed on modern-day New Orleans.

The sole chance now lies with a former "monster" and his all-too-human colleagues, Detectives Carson O'Connor, and Michael Maddison

Deucalion's centuries-long history began with Victor's first, unsuccessful effort to create the perfect human–and it is doomed to finish with the final confrontation between a wretched creature and his insane creator.

But first, Deucalion must destroy a horror that not even Victor's evil imagination could have imagined—an invincible thing that emerges from humankind's collective nightmare with one goal in mind: to replace it.

I'm working on several other projects right now, and as soon as I finish them, I'll include a proper summary for this book.

Summary

The basic narrative follows New Orleans detective Carson and her partner Michael as they search for "The Surgeon," a serial killer.

Deucalion, once known as The Monster, is alarmed by reports of this serial murderer, believing that his old master and creator, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, has returned.

When Carson meets Deucalion, the investigation takes a darker turn, leading Carson and Michael down the road of a 200-year-old mystery and evil that threatens more than just New Orleans.

In New Orleans, a serial killer is on the loose and killing nonstop. A number of women have been discovered dead with one or more body parts missing–feet, hands, ears, lips–you get the picture.

A few men have also died after having their internal organs removed medically. The inquiry is being led by detective partners Carson O'Connor and Michael Maddison

She is aggressive and hard-driving both inside and outside of the automobile. Maddison is her polar opposite: a devoted spouse who is constantly able to mock himself and Carson in a way that keeps things honest.

Carson is also in charge of her younger autistic brother Arnie, who is constructing a castle fortress in his room.

The stronghold is a symbol, a warning that something far more sinister is at work than just a serial murderer.

Carson's first clue is Deucalion, a mystery guest. He's reportedly the inheritor of a theater and has arrived in New Orleans from a monastery abroad.

He moves with fast speed, employing an extraordinary sleight of hand, and has enormous scars tattooed on one side of his face.

He claims to be almost two centuries old, made from body parts, and brought to life by Victor Frankenstein by a lightning strike.

He believes that Frankenstein, also known as Victor Helios, is still alive in New Orleans and poses as a local benefactor. He also forms a particular relationship with Arnie, who is in peril as well.

The true story is significantly more sinister. Helios has honed his ability to produce human life, ostensibly soulless but improved beings, and a perfect race infiltrating civilization until Helios fulfills his aim of eradicating humanity.

However, something isn't quite right. Some of those who were created with no ambitions other than to serve Helios and to be submissive to his whims are starting to think, act, and even murder on their own.

It turns out that you can't make people and expect them to stay robots. They want significance, joy, or even just to be free of Helios—wishes that are far more human than Helios would allow.

Pulling the levers causes the box to spew out miniature, mystical chocolate things, and mint-condition silver dollars. Farris vanishes after their conversation, but Gwendy has many nightmares about his black hat.

Gwendy keeps the box hidden from everyone in the years that follow. Her life improves dramatically as a result of the chocolates; she loses weight, her eyesight improves to the point that she no longer needs glasses, and she eventually matures into a stunning adolescent.

She also achieves an A+ in school and excels in sports. Her parents, whose marriage was on the verge of disintegration, both stop drinking and rediscover their love for one another.

The silver dollars guarantee that she would be able to pay for her college degree. But the box's secret weighs on Gwendy, and her good fortune finally drives a schism between her and her best friend Olive.

One day, she can't resist the impulse anymore and presses the red button, focusing on the South American country of Guyana to attempt to limit the damage. This precipitates a terrible occurrence in which a cult leader called Jim Jones commits suicide, inspiring 900 of his followers to follow suit. Among the dead are a number of youngsters and newborns.

Olive commits suicide at the age of 17 by jumping down the Suicide stepsGwendy, torn by sadness, presses the red button once again, destroying the steps and a portion of the cliff.

She is hardly able to attend Olive's burial, but she goes about her business as best she can. She meets and falls in love with a man named Harry Streeter

She gradually becomes bored of the box and her reliance on it. She quits using the magical chocolates, despite the fact that it causes her to gain a few pounds and her grades to fall significantly, and attempts to forget about the box entirely.

As graduation approaches, Gwendy is assaulted in her room by Frankie, a boy whose advances she had turned down.

He discovered the button box as well as the silver dollars. Harry tries to protect Gwendy but is killed when Frankie smashes him with the box.

Frankie then uses a knife to assault Gwendy. She gets wounded in the foot, but she manages to grab the box and activate the red button to kill Frankie.

Gwendy loses a portion of her foot as a result of Frankie's attack, but she otherwise survives.

She leaves for college, bringing the box with her. She still eats the chocolates on occasion and uses the silver dollars to pay for her schooling. She decides to pursue her dream of becoming a writer.

Then, ten years after receiving the package from him, Gwendy runs across Richard Farris again.

He compliments her for taking good care of the box. Gwendy ultimately discloses, at his request, what happened the night she used the box against Frankie; he literally withered away from the instant she pressed the button.

She then made his body vanish so no one would ever suspect her of murder. Farris, in turn, soothes Gwendy by telling her that the Jonestown tragedy and Olive's death were not her faults and that her decision not to use the box saved numerous lives.

He retrieves the package and vanishes into the darkness. Gwendy stays behind with one last silver dollar and Farris' promise of becoming a renowned author.

Summary

Scott Carey in Stephen King's novella Elevation did not appear to be any unusual; he is the standard overweight American guy, but the scale revealed that he was shedding weight at an alarming rate.

Scott confided in Bob Ellis, a friend, and retired doctor, about what was going on with him. Scott determined to make at least one thing right in his life because he didn't want to spend what was remained of his life being tested and seen as an anomaly.

Scott's effort to befriend a lesbian couple in his area, whom he had unknowingly hurt, prompted a shift in his whole community.

When Bob initially grew concerned about his weight loss, Scott paid him a visit. His usual doctor examined him thoroughly and informed him that he was in wonderful health.

Scott showed Bob that he weighed the same amount fully clothed as he did in only his underpants.

According to the scale, he had been dropping weight on a regular basis, but he had never become any leaner. Scott said that he was terrified when he noticed that the clothes he was wearing looked to weigh nothing.

Bob was at a loss for words when it came to Scott's questions. He advised that Scott inform his doctor about what was going on, but Scott refused since he did not want to be compelled to undertake medical tests.

Scott was happy when he returned home and was able to photograph his neighbors' dogs performing their business on his grass.

He had contacted married lesbians Missy Donaldson and Deirdre McComb about their pets in the past, but Deirdre had assured him that the dog was not coming.

Deirdre felt increasingly enraged when Scott approached her with the image. He had shown his case and won the war, she said.

Scott tried to apologize, but Deirdre wouldn't let him. Missy subsequently came to Scott's house to apologize for Deirdre. She told him that she and Deirdre were likely to lose their business since the community refused them. Missy and Deirdre would have to make an effort to be polite to one another from then on.

Scott came close to winning the race because he weighed so little. Deirdre tripped when she turned to see Scott behind her. He stopped to help her up. She became aware of his state and stared at him in surprise, but he instructed her to run.

There were images of Scott assisting Deirdre up and also of him seeming to hug both Deirdre and Missy at the finish line in that evening's online version of the paper.

The townspeople's attitudes shifted as a result of Scott's demonstration of acceptance. Missy and Deirdre's restaurant was so popular that they had to recruit additional staff and expand their hours.

Scott got acquainted with Missy and Deirdre as well. Despite the fact that Deirdre won the race, Scott nevertheless cooked lunch for them.

Scott told Missy and Deirdre about his weird condition in front of Bob and his wife, Myrna. Even though Scott knew he didn't have much time left, he and his new circle of pals ate together once a week.

Scott felt comfortable having people around the home the final week, so he asked Deirdre if she would assist him when the time came for him to go. Deirdre concurred.

Scott summoned her one day after the scales recorded his weight as 2.1 pounds. He needed to be restrained in a wheelchair and harness so Deirdre could get him outdoors.

Scott was able to fly into the night sky thanks to Deirdre's assistance. He was clutching a SkyLight, an expensive firework that he fired off as he drifted toward the stars far above the town.

Summary

A strange lady beats two guys who run a meth lab out of their mobile home to death, and then sets fire to the lab before allowing herself to be apprehended by the local sheriff.

Lila Norcross, in the impoverished town of Dooling, part of the fictional Tri-Counties region of Appalachia.

Simultaneously, reports emerge of a mysterious illness sweeping the globe, causing women to fall into a deep sleep while cocooned in a strange material.

The sickness, called "Aurora," also makes the sleeping ladies homicidal, assaulting and killing any adult who tries to release the cocoons.

Clint, Lila's husband and the chief psychiatrist at the Dooling Correctional Institute for Women, notices Aurora in his patients around the same time that the woman, dubbed "Eve Black," is incarcerated there.

As the disease spreads throughout the town, local women become desperate to stay awake, which results in looting and riots.

Lila succumbs to the illness and is replaced by Terry Coombs, her alcoholic chief deputy, who appoints Frank Geary, a former animal control officer with a short fuse, as his second-in-command.

Warden Janice Coates, Clint's superior, fires one of her guards, Don Peters, for sexual harassment; he drugs her with Xanax, leaving Clint to protect the few remaining female inmates.

Clint interviews Eve and discovers that she is an "emissary" sent by an alien creature who believes that women are capable of creating a society devoid of war, abuse, and other ills that she claims are mostly caused by males.

Clint is "the Man," according to her, and his mission is to guard Eve for "a week or two" while she pledges to heal the ladies of Aurora

Meanwhile, Frank and Terry deputize numerous new recruits, including Peters and Eric Blass, a juvenile delinquent, and gradually restore order to Dooling.

Rumors about Eve's ability to sleep and wake without incident spread across the village, prompting Frank to begin enlisting Terry's help in luring her out of prison in order to save the sleeping ladies.

Clint's son Jared and his companion Mary successfully conceal Lila and three other women in an empty house, fearful that Frank will exploit their bodies as hostages.

Meanwhile, the ladies are trapped in a post-apocalyptic Dooling that they refer to as "Our Place" in another reality.

Even as several unexpectedly leave, Lila and Janice assume leadership, and the women begin to re-establish themselves (due to their bodies having been destroyed by men in the real world).

Instead of finding additional survivors, a crew assigned to hunt for them comes and finds a majestic Tree, which turns out to be the doorway between Our Place and Dooling.

Frank's wife, Elaine Nutting, tries to burn the Tree down because she doesn't want to return to the real world, but Eve intervenes by sending an inmate, Jeanette Sorley, to stop her; Jeanette has a little boy whom she urgently wants to see again, so she agrees to intervene.

When Jeanette discovers Elaine lighting the Tree gateway, she wrestles the lighter and a revolver away from her.

Jeanette then tosses the lighter into the trash and grabs the revolver to stow it in her belt. Leaves rustle behind her before she can do so. Jeanette turns around with the rifle in her hand, and Lila accidentally fires and kills her.

Clint and his merry band take firearms from the police station, causing Frank and Terry to form a posse to storm the prison and kidnap Eve

During the attack, two criminals whom Lila had apprehended based on an inmate's confession use a stolen bazooka to blow up the station and a section of the jail, killing fifteen women before Vanessa Lampley, a former guard, shoots them down.

Terry kills himself out of sadness and cowardice, Peters and Blass are slain, and the majority of Frank's men abandon him, but he makes it to Eve's cell.

Even though Eve herself assures Frank that murdering her is the best way to rescue his family, Clint, Jared, Janice's daughter Michaela, a prisoner called Angel Fitzroy, and an old volunteer named Willy Burke try to urge him to spare her life.

Clint uses guilt to push Eve to use her power to save Willy when his heart suddenly stops, realizing that Eve is attempting to establish that males are fundamentally violent and should be allowed to die out.

When Frank and the others notice this, they allow Eve to return to Our Place, where she gives the ladies the option of returning to Dooling or staying put. At the end of the day, all of the ladies vote to return.

Life gradually returns to normal as sleeping ladies throughout the world awaken from their slumber.

However, Lila and Clint's already unstable marriage falls apart, and the couple decides to divorce, with Clint returning to his previous position at a nearby jail and Lila retiring as sheriff.

Lila travels out to where the Tree used to stand, haunted by Jeanette's death and seeking forgiveness and asks Eve for a sign of her presence. Then, on her palm, a solitary brown moth (one of Eve's forms) falls.
